Precision Craftsmanship

filigree inlay technique

Filigree inlay is a traditional Chinese gold and silver craft, one of the "Eight Unique Skills of Beijing," and a national intangible cultural heritage. This technique involves drawing pure gold into fine wires, then using intricate processes such as pinching, filling, assembling, soldering, weaving, and stacking to create shapes, embellished with gemstones and enamel. Craftsmen weave delicate patterns with millimeter-thick gold wires, a meticulous and time-consuming process. E-DELON upholds the spirit of craftsmanship, showcasing the ingenuity of its artisans in every piece, blending Eastern elegance with gold, carrying on the long-standing tradition of craftsmanship, and ensuring the enduring beauty of classical craftsmanship.

Chasing technique

Chasing is a traditional gold-working technique that has been passed down for thousands of years and was widely used in the creation of imperial artifacts in ancient times. Craftsmen use chisels and dozens of techniques, such as hooking, lifting, stepping, dotting, and pressing, to directly carve vivid patterns on the gold artifact blank.
No additional splicing is needed; the depth and layers are created by the deformation of the metal itself, resulting in fluid lines and a natural three-dimensional effect. E-DELON continues the ancient craftsmanship by using gold as a medium, engraving landscapes, flowers, birds, and auspicious patterns on small gold pieces, giving the texture of the products a warm touch of craftsmanship, and allowing the ancient art of engraving to be reborn in contemporary gold works.

Enamel craftsmanship

Enameling, an ancient craft with a long history, imbues gold with a vibrant and dynamic quality through its rich colors. It is categorized into three types based on firing temperature and raw materials: low-temperature enamel uses resin as a base, resulting in soft and full colors; medium-temperature enamel blends resin and natural mineral pigments, balancing texture and color depth; and high-temperature enamel uses natural mineral pigments fired at high temperatures, resulting in stable and enduring colors. Craftsmen meticulously apply the pigments, employing multiple processes and careful firing techniques to allow the vibrant colors to blend harmoniously with the gold base. The interplay of warm and cool tones softens the heaviness of gold, creating an elegant and rich oriental aesthetic. E-DELON blends tradition and innovation, breathing new life into the beauty of ancient enamel on contemporary gold jewelry using traditional techniques.

Hammering process

Hammering is one of the traditional metalworking techniques in ancient China. Craftsmen use hammers of various sizes to repeatedly hammer gold sheets, relying on the metal's malleability to make the sheet rise and fall to shape the object.
From flat gold sheets to three-dimensional teapots, cups, and bracelets, everything can be crafted with a natural and rustic texture, retaining the marks of hand-hammering and highlighting the warmth of handmade craftsmanship. E-DELON deeply explores the value of traditional gold-making techniques, condensing the millennia-old craftsmanship into contemporary goldware.

Wire cutting process

Gold engraving is a carving technique used in gold jewelry. It involves using gold techniques to carve smooth, fine, and uniformly spaced parallel lines on the metal surface, giving the finished product a soft, silky luster and a diffuse reflection effect similar to a "cat's eye" on curved surfaces. It also enhances the product's hardness and wear resistance.
This craft requires artisans to precisely control the depth and density of the engraved lines on the curved surface of gold. High-powered microscopes are often used during the process, making each piece time-consuming and heavily reliant on manual labor. Due to subtle differences in the handwork, the lines in each engraved piece are slightly different, ultimately giving the metal surface a delicate luster and feel. E-DELON meticulously crafts its gold pieces, integrating traditional goldsmithing techniques into contemporary jewelry making, allowing the unique and delicate luster and feel of engraved lines to shine on modern gold creations.

Gold inlay craftsmanship

The gold setting technique, by increasing the hardness of gold, breaks through the previous limitation that gold was too soft to set gemstones, achieving a breakthrough in expression. This technique uses gold as a base, securing gemstones such as jade, colored gemstones, and turquoise through bezel setting and channel setting; blending the warm texture of the precious metal with the natural brilliance of the gemstones, creating a harmonious balance of movement and stillness, enriching the layers and meaning of the jewelry. E-DELON inherits traditional setting techniques and combines them with innovative interpretations of contemporary jewelry design, allowing the traditional aesthetic of gold and gemstones to shine with new brilliance in modern gold jewelry.
